Maugham Salver

GB v Ireland Test Match for the Ian Maugham Salver

Trophy:  A Silver Salver.

The Ian Maugham Salver is a solid silver salver, originally presented to Ian Maugham’s grandfather on his retirement, and donated with re-engraving in 2008 by David Maugham in memory of his father.

GB leads the series 10-1 with one match tied, having won 8-5 in 2012.

Scotland was chosen to host this top-quality Association Croquet Test Match on 30 and 31 August 2008 at Meadows West, sponsored by Clydesdale Bank.  Three of the winning MacRobertson Shield team were selected to represent GB, including Scots Keith Aiton and Jonathan Kirby, and the standard of play was very high indeed, including the first two Sextuple Peels seen in competitive play in Scotland.

Jonathan Kirby played in 2004 and 2008, Keith Aiton in 2006, 2007 and 2008, and James Hopgood in 2011.
