Walker Cup 2016

Jola Jurasinska was the winner of the 2016 Walker with Roger Binks coming a very close second.
Due to good player cooperation in being prompt and in helping set out the lawns play commenced, on time, at 9:30am. The format for this year’s tournament was 4 rounds of 18-point games, played on full lawns to a handicap base of 10, with handicap allowances adjusted as detailed in 6th Edition Laws, Appendix 8, Schedule 1. Play continued throughout the morning under milky skies with a heavy down pour starting at 1.20pm. The rain was so heavy that Lawn 1 became partially flooded, but play continued due to Joe and Brian’s valiant efforts with the squeegee and blade.
Congratulations to Jola, a worthy winner and for achieving a handicap reduction to 10.
