Scottish Short Croquet Championship 2015

23 August 2015, Kinross

The playersFour players - Joe Lennon (11), Alistair Malcolm (12), David Young (20) and George Geis (20) - contested the 2015 Scottish Short Croquet Championship.

The championship was played as two rounds of three matches for each player and commenced at 10.00am.   An excellent lunch of fish and chips with welcome refreshments was enjoyed by all in The Green Hotel followed by an afternoon session of the second set of three matches with the crowd swelling by four, Kinross member Heather with her charming Yorkie and David’s two well-behaved black Labradors.

David, with his consistent hoop running, precision pioneer placements and tactical use of bisques was the clear winner, losing only one of his six matches, which was to Joe Lennon.  With the exception of the two matches between David and Joe, all matches went to peg-out.

In all, it was an excellent day’s croquet, played in glorious weather with a worthy winner taking home the coveted shield.
