Scottish Golf Croquet Championship 2006
5 August 2006, Glasgow
Eight players met at Kelvingrove to contest this year's Scottish Golf Croquet Championship. The competition was played as all-play-all single 13-point games.
The trophy was retained by Jamieson Walker, who has now won this event three times in succession.
He did not, however, have it all his own way. There was real tension in the final round when, with the scores at 6 - 6, Joe Lennon needed to score a two-yard thirteenth hoop to force a play-off against Jamieson, who was unbeaten up till now. However, Joe's usual hooping accuracy deserted him at this point and a few strokes later Jamieson scored to retain the trophy.
Also, a good first ever tournament for Ruth Munro who, although scoring no wins, improved noticeably over the course of the day and in the afternoon gave a few players a real run for their money.
