9-10 September 2017, Westburn & Albury
Hosted by Aberdeen and Crathes Croquet Club, 18 players from as far afield as Middlesbrough, Keswick, Auchincruive and the Central Belt took part in the Aberdeen AC Tournament over the weekend of 9/10th September. Last year’s winner Jim Wilson (Keswick) could not defend his title as he was recovering from a knee operation but the Aberdeen Quaich will be returning to Keswick as Tom Ryan beat Kevin Wright (Auchincruive) in the final. Finishing at 4.45pm the presentation ceremony was a rather hurried event as Tom and others had to catch their train at 5.10pm. The Wine Final was won by Lorna Dewar (Edinburgh) who beat local player Malcolm Robertson in a closely contested match.
20 August 2017, Balgreen
This season saw Kinross Croquet Club pass the mantle for organising this tournament to Balgreen Croquet Club. The event went on to attract 11 entrants, several of whom were making a welcome, but all too rare, appearance on the tournament scene. With players' handicaps ranging from 3½ to 24, the club's supply of bisques was, on occasions, stretched to the limit!
2-3 September 2017, Meadows
The annual match between the SCA and CA took place on the weekend of 2-3 September at the Meadows. The playing conditions were excellent and the ground crew of the club must be complimented on the condition of the lawns.
