Glasgow Croquet Club opened in 1959 on the Pollok Estate. In 1973 the club purchased ground adjacent to the Haggs Castle Golf Club and the Police sports ground in Pollok Park and two lawns were laid out there. It remained on this site until 1983, when two suitable bowling greens were made available at Glasgow Green West; in 1988 it moved to Glasgow Green East, where it had two lawns of its own and could occasionally borrow one or both of the other two greens. In 1995 the clubhouse was burned down and another move was made to Kelvingrove Park beside the Art Gallery. In 2009 the club was temporarily evicted from Kelvingrove, for the development of the 2014 Commonwealth Games bowling site, and a replacement site in Alexandra Park in Dennistoun was provided by the Council. After a brief return to Kelvingrove the Club is now located on a permanent basis at Knightswood Bowling Green on the west side of Glasgow.
The club is located at the Knightswood Bowling Green, Chaplet Ave, Glasgow, G13 3XB.
There is free and easy parking on-street on every day of the week.
