Glasgow Open 2024

20-21 April, Knightswood

The Knightswood lawns had been recently scarified as part of Glasgow Life’s efforts to improve the croquet lawns in Glasgow for which we are all very grateful.  There were five competitors playing an all-play-all, 3 hour time limit, advanced croquet event.  Brian Durward laid out the lawns and was referee of the tournament, thank you Brian.

We played in glorious sunshine on the Saturday - so much so that one of the spectators returned on Sunday with severe sunburn.  But on the Sunday, Glasgow returned to form and we battled through the rain.  The tournament was played in good spirits throughout, aided by everyone winning at least one match.

Congratulations to Mark Shanks who won all of his games and had the luxury of not having to play his final game in the rain on Sunday afternoon as he had already secured the trophy.
